Unique job postings for data & analytics talent hit a new high in June, suggesting that the market for people with data skills may be near recession-proof.
According to the data I get from Emsi (now Lightcast), the number of job postings with these job titles are up 3% MoM to a total of 41,797 in June (89% more than last year):
- Data Analyst
- Data Scientist
- Data Engineer
- Analytics Manager
- Marketing Analytics Manager
- Director of Analytics
- Chief Data Officer
So why does demand for data & analytics talent continue to increase despite US inflation at its highest point in nearly 40 years and the worst January – June stock market performance since 1970?
If you are a hiring manager, I’d love to hear from you and whether/how the economy has affected your plans to hire people with data or analytics skills.
