What does a data analyst do? A data analyst uses BI tools like Tableau, Power BI or Google Data Studio, combined with data storytelling, logic and user-centric design to bring data to life and help solve problems and drive business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Compile, integrate and analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, expose new opportunities and answer ongoing business questions.
- Design and build reports for analysis and measure performance against KPIs/goals.
- Conduct analyses using BI tools or applied statistical methods (e.g., Excel, SAS, R) to address business questions, issues and opportunities.
- Communicate analysis results, actionable recommendations and other insights in a manner tailored to the target audience.
- Monitor data quality to improve confidence in the data used for analysis.
Skills
- Advanced Excel
- Basic data visualization (e.g., Tableau, Domo, Power BI, Data Studio)
- Some experience with SQL, Python and/or R is preferred
